When it was announced that Quentin Tarantino’s next film would revolve around the Manson Family, it seemed like a fitting combination. Tarantino has now clarified, however, that his ninth feature won’t exactly be about Charles Manson.

According to IndieWire, Tarantino stated, “It’s not Charles Manson, it’s 1969.” While it appears Charles Manson won’t be the focus of the film, it’s been rumored that Margot Robbie might play Sharon Tate, the actress who the Manson Family killed in August 1969.

In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, Tarantino has been looking for a new studio to distribute his upcoming film, which is expected to hit theaters in 2019.
