Wonder Woman may be banned in certain countries

Wonder Woman hits many theaters across the globe this week but not all countries are certain to screen it.

According to local Lebanese paper The Daily Star, Lebanon’s Ministry of Economy will “take the necessary measures” to ban Wonder Woman because the film’s lead actress Gal Gadot is from Israel and Lebanon is currently at war with Israel.

It’s also thought that other middle eastern countries who have conflict with Israel will attempt to ban the movie, most notably Palestine. Gadot was also a member of the Israeli army and has previously shown public support for Israeli troops, which will be the main cause of any potential bans of the film.

However, a Lebanese premiere is still being planned with a ban yet to be enforced, but reports suggest that the government may soon step in.
