For the longest time, Marvel and DC have been viewed as bitter rivals. This so-called rivalry has only increased with both franchises launching their own cinematic universes. Based on the kind words Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently had for Wonder Woman, though, perhaps bad blood between Marvel and DC isn’t as bad as people assume.

Speaking with Yahoo Movies, Feige championed Wonder Woman for centering on a female superhero with a female director behind the camera, something that Marvel has yet to do.

“The success of Wonder Woman is awesome, and just puts to rest the fallacy that people don’t want to see female superheroes,” he said.

Given how much fanboys argue over Marvel and DC, it’s encouraging to see Feige complemented the quote unquote enemy. Of course David Ayer probably won’t be saying anything nice about Marvel in the foreseeable future.

Although we’re still waiting for a Black Widow movie, Marvel will be delivering their first female-lead superhero flick with Captain Marvel in 2019. Meanwhile, Evangeline Lilly will have an even larger role in 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
