Guardians of the Galaxy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes pass $700m worldwide

Guardians of the Galaxy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have passed the $700 million mark in worldwide takings since their release in August and July respectively. Box Office Mojo currently lists Guardians’ worldwide total as $705,108,491 and Apes’ as $700,350,425. Guardians of the Galaxy is now Marvel’s third highest-grossing film at the domestic box office, behind only The Avengers and Iron Man 3. The current total for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes far surpasses its prequel, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which made $481,801,049 worldwide.
