Sony apparently hasn’t given up on getting Daniel Craig back to star in more Bond movies, despite the actor previously turning down an offer of £68m to do so. That’s at least according to a report from Radar, who say that the company have offered Craig $150 million to portray Bond two more times. A source told the publication “the studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor.” And went on to say:

“Everyone knows how much executives adore him, and the idea of losing him at such a crucial time in the franchise isn’t an option as far as all the studio honchos are concerned.”

He’s obviously seen to be so bankable for the studio, having helped them to right the ship with the franchise.

Personally, we’d like to see Craig return to the role at least once more, Spectre not being the fitting send-off which he really deserved. However, in our minds, Michael Fassbender might be the best way for the studio to go, if he is indeed an option. The actor having portrayed his intense and powerful acting chops in just about every production he has been a part of. Plus, there’s a scene in X-Men: First Class which could have been lifted straight out of the next Bond movie – Fassbender coming across as every bit super spy material…
