Natalie Portman has revealed that Ashton Kutcher was paid three times more than her for the 2011 rom-com No Strings Attached.

The duo shared the screen but Portman told Marie Claire that the wage difference was unfair:

“I knew and I went along with it, because there’s this thing with ‘quotes’ in Hollywood. His was three times higher than mine, so they said he should get three times more.”

“I wasn’t as p***ed as I should have been, I mean, we get paid a lot, so it’s hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy.” she said.

She went on to compare the amount men earn in contrast to women:

“Compared to men, in most professions, women make 80 cents to the dollar. In Hollywood, we are making 30 cents to the dollar.”

The gender wage gap row in Hollywood continues to arise, with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Patricia Arquette speaking out.

Portman recently starred in Jackie which could earn her an Oscar nomination. Her role in No Strings Attached will leave less happy memories for the actress though, but you can refresh your memory of the movie with the trailer below:
