Earlier this year, it was announced that Marvel and Netflix were teaming up to bring us some exciting new adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Daredevil, The Defenders and AKA Jessica Jones, in which Krysten Ritter was recently cast as the lead. And now Luke Cage, a hero with super strength who first appeared in the comics in 1972, has been given a face: Mike Colter will be playing the Marvel man, and is expected to make appearances across Netflix’s host of planned shows. The actor has starred in plenty of TV already, such as Criminal Minds and The Following, while movies under his belt include Zero Dark Thirty and Men in Black 3. But when will his character first show up? And will he form a relationship with Ritter’s Jones, like in the comics? It’s rumoured that he’ll also be getting his own show, too – but we’ll have to wait until next year, when the first of the Marvel / Netflix shows, Daredevil – which airs in May – to see if Cage will turn up then or not.
