We all know what a critical bashing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received upon its highly anticipated release earlier this year. And following reports that Batman star himself Ben Affleck felt ‘humiliated‘ at the bad reviews, another actor in the film has taken to a bit of bashing, too, in an interview with the Daily Mail’s Event magazine.

Jeremy Irons, who plays Bruce Wayne’s butler, Aflred, responded to the critical backlash the film received: ‘Deservedly so. I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t mater but it was sort of overstuffed… It was very muddled.’

Irons has hope that Justice League: Part One – directed by BvS‘s Zack Snyder – will turn out far better. ‘I think the next one will be simpler,’ he explains. ‘The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear.’

Let’s hope he’s right. Justice League: Part One is slated for a November 16, 2017 release.
