It’s been reported that the latest film in the Cloverfield franchise will hit theaters early next year.
Much like 10 Cloverfield Lane, J.J. Abrams returns to produce an indirect sequel set within the Cloverfield universe. The film is titled God Particle and was first announced in 2012.
According to The Wrap, a new entry in the Cloverfield series will be released annually.
God Particle is directed by Julis Onah, and stars the likes of David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl and Chris O’Dowd.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
“After a physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator causes the Earth to seemingly vanish completely, the terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of now-even-more-empty space. When a European spacecraft appears on their radar, the Americans must determine whether it’s their salvation, or a harbinger of doom.”
God Particle aka Cloverfield 3 will arrive in theaters on February 24, 2017.
