Sacha Baron Cohen to star as Mandrake the Magician

Sacha Baron Cohen is set to play the title character in a film adaptation of Mandrake the Magician.

Based on Lee Falk’s comic strip, the movie is being directed by Etan Cohen of Get Hard. According to The Tracking Board, the film will follow Mandrake as he’s “recruited by the United States government for a secret mission.”

Produced by Warner Bros., the film’s latest draft was written by David and Janet Peoples of 12 Monkeys and Tom Wheeler of Puss in Boots.
