When Alien: Covenant came out this past summer, Ridley Scott claimed that he had a few more sequels planned. Even after Covenant disappointed at the box office, Scott still seemed optimistic about the franchise’s future, at last based on his words here. Now it seems that Scott is finally throwing in the towel.

On Twitter, The Hollywood Reporter posted an interview in which Scott states, “I think the beast has almost run out, personally.”

While it’s still unclear if Fox has given up on the franchise, it appears Scott is content with letting Alien die after multiple sequels failed to generate much interest from audiences.
