Lethal Weapon 4 appeared to be the official death of the once beloved action franchise. Another sequel seemed even less likely on the heels of Mel Gibson’s controversial behavior behind the camera. Gibson and Danny Glover might not be too old for this $h!t after all, however.

According to Deadline, the two starts are currently in talks with Warner Bros. about Lethal Weapon 5 with Richard Donner directing and Channing Gibson penning the script.

Whether the film gets made or not, we’ll always have It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s version of Lethal Weapon 5.

And also Lethal Weapon 6.
