Like the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings franchises, The Hunger Games may continue through a prequel series. According to Variety, Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns says that the franchise “will live on and on.” A Hunger Games prequel would go back to the arenas exemplified in the first two movies. “If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas,” he noted.

The fourth film in the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay – Part 2, has been another big box office hit for the studio. It’s been the number one movie in America for the past three weeks and will likely continue to dominate until Star Wars: The Force Awakens enters the arena. Would you want to see more movies inspired by Suzanne Collins’ trilogy of bestselling books, or should Lionsgate just go out on a high note?
