It’s no secret that Steven Speilberg has an eye for talent. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the director discovered Alden Ehrenreich, who recently landed the role of young Han Solo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spielberg first discovered Ehrenreich when he was 14 in bat mitzvah video. Ehrenreich also notably broke out into feature film with Tetro and Twixt, both of which were directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Insiders claim that Spielberg and Coppola reached out to Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy to endorse Ehrenreich, who went through multiple tests for the role.
