The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and a Wardrobe was a tremendous success when it hit theaters in 2005. After 2008’s Prince Caspian failed to capture the same box office magic, though, Disney jumped ship and 20th Century Fox helmed 2010’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Alas, the third Narnia picture was another financial letdown. It was starting to look like the forth entry in the Narnia franchise, The Silver Chair, would never meet the silver screen. Sony is reportedly taking audiences back to C.S. Lewis’ enchanting realm, however.

The film will be financed by TriStar Pictures in partnership with The Mark Gordon Company, Entertainment One, and The C.S. Lewis Company. David Magee (Life of Pi) will act as a screenwriter while Melvin Adams, Mark Gordon, Douglas Gresham, and Vincent Sieber will produce.

Gordon previously stated that The Silver Chair will act as a reboot with none of the original cast members returning.
