Given the critical and fan reception Wonder Woman has received, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that director Patty Jenkins and DC are already developing a sequel.

According to Variety, DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns confirmed that Jenkins would return for the followup. The two are currently in the process of writing a treatment.

“Patty and I are writing the treatment right now,” Johns stated. “The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one.”

While there’s currently no official release date for Wonder Woman 2, we won’t have to wait too long for Gal Gadot to reprise the role. Wonder Woman will play a significant part in Justice League, which hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
