Michael Keaton, who ironically used to be Batman, has been in talks to play the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Variety reports Keaton initially walked away from the role due to “money issues.” At first, Marvel didn’t think they could afford both Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. for the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, however, Keaton is in “final negotiations” and “closing a deal.”

Deadline also believes that Keaton might be playing the Vulture. This would be REALLY ironic considering that Keaton was also Birdman.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
