The 2005 adaption of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was a massive hit with audiences and critics alike. After 2008’s Prince Caspian and 2010’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader underwhelmed at the box office, though, the fate of the franchise seemed up in the air.

It appeared an adaptation of The Silver Chair would finally move forward when director Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer, Captain America: The First Avenger) was brought on board earlier this year. At Paris Comic-con, Johnston revealed that shooting will likely commence in winter 2018.

Although The Silver Chair was the fourth published book in C. S. Lewis’s fantasy series, the film will supposedly act as a reboot of sorts. Of course if they really want to reboot the franchise, we wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon expressed interested in a Narnia TV show, as they’re already looking into making a Lord of the Rings series.
