Nicholas Winding Refn, the director of 2011’s Drive, has expressed interest in making a Batgirl movie.

Speaking with Business Insider, Refn stated that he dreamed of directing a Wonder Woman movie, although that job ultimately went to Patty Jenkins.

Refn is still open to making a superhero flick, though, especially if it’s about Batgirl. “You know the one I want to do?” he asked “I want to make Batgirl. Let’s get Warner working on it.”

Alicia Silverstone previously portrayed Batman’s female sidekick in 1997’s Batman & Robin. Since Silverstone won a Razzie for her performance, it’s not surprising that DC hasn’t jumped at the chance to make a Batgirl movie. With a director like Refn behind the camera, though, Warner Bros. may finally do her justice on the big screen.
