Tom Holland confirms that Spider-Man was in Iron Man 2

Tom Holland has confirmed a fan theory that Spidey actually appeared in 2010’s Iron Man 2.

The theory is that the kid in Iron Man toy armor near the end of the film is a young Peter Parker. The boy attempts to stop one of the baddie’s killer drones, before Stark saves the day. See it in the clip below:

The timing of the theory makes sense as there was six years between Iron Man 2 and Captain America: Civil War, and Peter is only 15 in the new films. Also, the location of the scene above is Queens, which is Peter’s hometown.

Now as far-fetched as that theory may sound, Holland, who plays the latest incarnation of the character, has confirmed to HuffPost that the theory is in fact correct!

“I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.” said Holland.

It’s rare for a fan theory to be correct so fair play to the eagle-eyed fans out there who spotted it, now cue the “I told you so’s…”

Spider-Man: Homecoming has had great responses so far and it swings into theaters on July 7.

    I think it’s stretching a wonderful little moment into something it’s not. I’d like to hear this from Jon, the director.
