Good news for Quentin Tarantino fans, The Hateful Eight is now scheduled to release globally one week early. The Western, starring Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson, will open on New Year’s Day instead of January 8.

Deadline reports that although the release of the 35mm and digital versions have been rescheduled, the limited 70mm roadshow version of the film will still premiere in theaters on Christmas Day.

We don’t know how many screens will be showing The Hateful Eight on January 1, but fans need not worry as the film will see a wider release the following week.

Don’t miss The Hateful Eight, Tarantino says the epic three-hour Western will be one of his last films before he retires.
