Star Wars and Mad Max win big at the 2016 Empire Awards

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Mad Max: Fury Road emerged as the big winners at this year’s Empire Awards.

Star Wars was the biggest winner of the night as it took home five trophies including Best Director and prizes for its two breakout stars, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, winning Best Female Newcomer and Best Male Newcomer. Mad Max: Fury Road was close behind with four awards.
