Producer Simon Kinberg has stated that an X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover is actually being considered by 20th Century Fox. The studio is also reportedly interested in doing a sequel to 2015’s Fantastic Four, despite receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews and disappointing box office returns. Kinberg additionally stated that he wants to bring back the same cast.

“We want to make another Fantastic Four movie,” Kinberg informed Den of Geek. The producer added, “We love that cast—I mean if I were to say to you now Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller, and Kate [Mara] and Jamie [Bell] are great actors—we love that cast.”

Kinberg also noted that if Fantastic Four 2 got off the ground, it would be a “brighter” film than its predecessor, which was criticized for being too dark and grim.

Although Kinberg seems determined to move forward with this franchise, it’s hard to imagine Fant4stic rebounding after tying with Fifty Shades of Grey for Worst Picture at the Razzies. If you ask us, Fox should just throw in the towel and let the Fantastic Four join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
