Michelle Rodriguez threatens to exit Fast & Furious

Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty has been part of the Fast & Furious family since the franchise’s first installment in 2001. Even after Letty seemingly bit the bullet, she managed to come back. Rodriguez may be exiting the series for good, however, due to the lack of “love” for women.

Rodriguez expressed her frustration in an Instagram post, stating, “I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise.

She added, “It’s been a good ride & I’m grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love.

In addition to Rodriguez’s Letty, Fast & Furious has created a few interesting female characters over the years, such as Charlize Theron’s Cipher, Gal Gadot’s Gisele, and Elsa Pataky’s Elena. Of course the franchise is still very male-dominated with Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson taking center stage. So perhaps a female-driven entry in the franchise would be a welcome addition. In any case, we’ll be getting at least two more Fast & Furious sequels in the foreseeable future. Based on the box office returns for The Fate of the Furious, it wouldn’t be surprising if we got even more.
