CBS has found its Supergirl: Melissa Benoist, who is most famous for starring in Glee, and most recently can be seen in Whiplash, will star in the network’s upcoming series on the superheroine. According to The Wrap, each hour-long episode will star Benoist as Supergirl, and will air sometime later this year (if not, then the first half of 2016). Supergirl’s birth name is Kara Zor-El, and like her male counterpart, is powered with extraordinary strength among other abilities, and the show will see her raised on Earth as she tries to hide her talents. But at the age of 24, she decides to do something with her powers. Will the entire series be one long origin story, or will we see Supergirl fighting off terrible foes from the get-go?
