Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey reportedly turned down the chance to play the big bad in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Variety says, “the actor recently passed, leaving the search for that part still in progress. Sources say that decision should be made in the coming weeks, as production is expected to begin in early 2016.”

On another note, Pom Klementieff of the Oldboy remake has earned a “key” role in the sequel, according to THR. It’s still unknown who Klementieff will be playing.
