Magic Tree House Movies Planned

The Magic Tree House books have been enchanting young readers for years, inspiring a total of 54 titles. Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment recently acquired the rights to the book series, which center on two siblings that travel through time via a magic tree house.

Variety says that the first film adaptation is to be based on Christmas in Camelot, the 29th novel in the saga. Mary Pope Osborne, who wrote the original books, shall act as an executive producer along with her husband, Will Osborne. Will is set to write the script along with Jenny Laird.

It’s unknown when the first Magic Tree House will hit theaters. Until then, however, you can always check out the 2011 anime adaptation.
