Following rumours of the 21 Jump Street and Men in Black franchises crossing over in a new film, it appears Sony will go ahead with the project.

According to Variety, James Bobin (who helmed the The Muppets) will reportedly direct the movie, replacing Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will return to reprise their roles as Jenko and Schmidt but Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones won’t be back as the iconic Men in Black agents as Sony are planning to replace them with younger actors.

The film is yet to officially get the greenlight, but once it gets the go-ahead, Sony are looking to begin production in June.
