Hugh Jackman teases image of last appearance as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman, star of the X-Men films, has been playing the grouchy superhero Wolverine for fifteen years now. Announcing not so long ago that his appearance in the as-yet untitled third solo Wolverine movie, due in 2017, will be his last, Jackman has taken to Twitter to show us the first image of his last appearance as the character.

Jackman also invites us to let him know what we would like to see happen – not that we think James Mangold, director of Wolverine 3, will actually be taking any suggestions seriously. Still, it’s a nice bit of interaction from the star who’s built his career playing such a beloved figure – but we’re still unsure as to whether he’s flipping us the bird in that image or not. Either way, it’s a sad realisation that Jackman will finish suiting up as a member of the X-Men soon.

Wolverine 3 is released March 3, 2017.
