Warner Bros. have announced that Godzilla 2 has been delayed by nine months and will now get a release on March 22, 2019. But in more promising news, the studio have now revealed that Godzilla vs. Kong will hit screens on May 29, 2020.
According to Deadline, Godzilla 2‘s original release date of June 8, 2018 would have had it in competition with Transformers 6 which was not ideal. Gareth Edwards will return to direct the sequel after he helmed the original which did very well at the box office.
No real details have been revealed regarding Godzilla vs. Kong but with a release date now confirmed, we can expect casting and crew announcements soon.
Kong: Skull Island will be the first film in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s cinematic universe of giant monsters and you can see it on March 10, 2017.
