Disney struck gold with The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, scared audiences away with The Haunted Mansion, and the less said about The Country Bears the better. Now the studio will take another crack at adapting a theme park attraction to the big screen with a Jungle Cruise movie. Dwayne Johnson has confirmed on Twitter that he’s attached to the project, saying, “Big news! Goal is to make this insanely cool and fun for fans ’round the globe.”
As we all know, the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland is most enjoyable when you get a funny, charismatic, down-to-earth tour guide who still manages to take their work seriously. Based on Dwayne Johnson’s track record, he fits that description perfectly and could make Jungle Cruise a lot of fun. There’s still no word on that potential Haunted Mansion reboot, however.
