Chis Rock has officially signed on to host the 88th Annual Academy Awards, according to IGN.

“Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry,” said Oscar producers producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin. “Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian – he’s done it all. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!”

Rock also commented, “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars. It’s great to be back.”

As you might remember, Rock previously hosted the 77th Academy Awards. Although there were reports that the Oscars would have two hosts this year, it looks like Rock is flying solo as of now.

With this announcement and so many great movies starting to come out, Oscar season is officially underway! We can’t wait for the 2016 Academy Awards on Sunday, February 28.
