Spider-Man: Homecoming came swinging into theaters with a spectacular Thursday night preview, earning $15.4 million.

According to Box Office Mojo, the latest Spidey film had 2017’s third biggest preview night, following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($17 million) and Beauty and the Beast ($16.3 million). Homecoming still surpassed The Amazing Spider-Man‘s midnight showing ($7.5 million) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s preview night showing ($8.7 million).

Early reports suggest that Spider-Man: Homecoming could gross anywhere between $90 million and $110 million during its opening weekend. That would fall short of what 2007’s Spider-Man 3 made during its opening weekend ($151.1 million). Of course the reviews for Homecoming have been much better than for the aforementioned letdown, meaning it might have stronger legs at the box office.
