Will Alden Ehrenreich be Playing Young Han Solo?

A Star Wars prequel centered on a young Han Solo is in the works. The shortlist of actors being considered to play young Han Solo was revealed not too long ago. Now it appears that Alden Ehrenreich of Hail, Caesar! and Blue Jasmine is the front-runner for the role.

Deadline reports that Ehrenreich’s screen tests have put him ahead of other finalists, such as Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor.

This standalone Han Solo movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller of The Lego Movie. Chewbacca will also reportedly be in the film.

The Han Solo picture comes out on May 25, 2018.
