Rings, Paramount Pictures’ third film in the horror series which began with the 2002 remake The Ring, has had its release date pushed back from November 13 of this year to 2016 – likely in the first quarter.

Variety reports that this is probably due to The Big Short‘s start being moved into this calendar year and Anomalisa debuting in an Oscar-qualifying run at the end of December.

Rings takes place 13 years after the events of the original film.
