Andrew Garfield may have seemed a young and fresh-sounding Spider-Man (although he was older than he appeared) when he made his onscreen debut as the character back in 2012, but if Badass Digest‘s report proves true then we may be watching a teenager pulling on the suit next time around.

They say that according to an anonymous source, Marvel have been auditioning 16 and 17 year-olds for the part, and that amongst them was 16-year-old Mateus Ward. Ward has had previous roles in Weeds and the mini-series Hostages.

It is expected that Marvel will introduce the new Spider-Man in cameo-form in Captain America: Civil War, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
