We already know that the Boba Fett Star Wars Anthology movie was axed but it’s now been revealed that Disney almost released a teaser for the film.

A teaser reel was prepped to be shown at the 2015 Star Wars Celebration with an official announcement, before it was cancelled “at the last minute”.

According to Entertainment Weekly sources, the director on board, Josh Trank left the project after Disney lost faith with him following the poor reviews he received on Fantastic Four.

The Anthology film was set to follow Rogue One but instead the Han Solo spinoff will replace it on the schedule.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy won’t rule out a Boba Fett film in the future though:

“There are [possible movies] that we have been talking a lot about. But we are planning to sit down in January, since we will have had The Force Awakens released, now Rogue One, and we’ve finished shooting Episode VIII.” Kennedy told EW.

“We have enough information where we can step back a little bit and say, What are we doing? What do we feel is exciting? And what are some of the things we want to explore?” she added.

In the meanwhile, Rogue One hits screens on December 16th.
