Ryan Reynolds has been a jolly good sport when it’s come to promoting his upcoming superhero flick, Deadpool, starring in all manner of silly promo images and video. But despite the apparent fun he’s having playing the merc with a mouth, he’s spoken with Huffington Post about his future in the superhero world, and it looks like after Deadpool, there isn’t one.

‘We all want to be Batman alone at home in our specifically-sewn Bat pajammies, but no, I have no desire to play any other superheroes after this.. Hopefully we’ll get to do Deadpool again.’

There you go; the man who has starred as Marvel superheroes, DC superheroes, and even imaginary superheroes will be neatly folding up his well-worn figurative cape forever. There is hope, however, that if Deadpool wins over audiences and does well at the box office, there will be a sequel – and Reynolds will be perfectly happy to reappear once more as a superhuman.

‘Given the fact the fact that it’s rated R, the fans have to show their support for it, and they have to come out and make it worthwhile for the studio to make another one, but that’s it for me. I’ve punched that superhero card a few times now, and that’s enough.’

Deadpool is released February 12, 2016. Do as Reynolds say, and go see it.
