Phil Lord and Christopher Miller writing The Lego Movie sequel

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who wrote and directed this year’s comedy smash hit The Lego Movie have been confirmed as being onboard as writers of the sequel, according to Deadline. It’s still unknown if they will also direct The Lego Movie 2, but to have them involved as writers alone is a huge win for Warner Bros., as the duo are massively in demand following their successes with the Jump Street movies and the first Lego Movie.

This news also comes hot off the back of news about a standalone Lego Batman Movie.

The Lego Movie 2 is slated to hit theatres in 2018.
