Warning: This post contains spoilers for Interstellar.

Over at Wired, a brand new comic strip has been revealed that gives Interstellar a bit more background. Christopher Nolan wrote Absolute Zero, which acts as a prequel to his sci-fi blockbuster, and follows Dr. Mann who has woken up to retrieve more data from the planet he landed on as part of the Lazarus project. The comic is brief but informative, with the beautiful artwork detailing the kind of isolation and despair that will eventually drive Dr. Mann to commit the awful acts he does in the movie. Oh, and another cool thing about Absolute Zero? The ‘decommissioned’ robot we see in Interstellar, named ‘KIPP’ in a not-too subtle allusion to Kip Thorne, the scientific consultant on the movie, is alive and kicking here, providing a conscience to Mann’s unraveling mind.
