Miley Cyrus will star in Woody Allen’s forthcoming Amazon TV series. Following rumours regarding the director’s new venture, the pop star has said that she will feature in the new 1960s-set show, which will air on Amazon Prime this year.
She revealed the news on Instagram along with the announcement that she would be starring alongside comic performer and writer Elaine May.
Cyrus has previous acting experience, with roles in christmas comedies The Night Before and A Very Murray Christmas although Woody Allen, in a tongue and cheek manner, already seems to be regretting signing up to helm the series.
“I don’t know how I got into this,” Allen said. “I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this.”
According to Deadline, the as-yet-untitled amazon series will start shooting in March.
