It may have lost out on Best Picture at the Academy Awards last week but with six Oscars, La La Land was still the biggest winner on the night and walked away with Best Actress and Best Director. And with the film soon to cross an astonishing $400million worldwide, it will come as no surprise that the musical is set to become a “live orchestra” event which is set to kick off in May.

Deadline reports that the film is set be performed live in a special event at the Hollywood Bowl on May 26th and 27th to “celebrate the film and embrace the legendary venue with unique pre-show photo opportunities and an array of delights including a fireworks spectacular.”

Once it has done with the Hollywood Bowl, the event is set to travel across the globe with performances in the UK, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Turkey and Switzerland as well as some more stops across the USA in the coming months including Atlanta, Seattle, Washington D.C, Nashville and San Diego amongst others.

And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Oscar Winner Justin Hurwitz (who won the award for Best Original Score and Best Original Song with his lyricists Benj Pasek And Justin Paul) is to “conduct a 100-piece symphony orchestra and jazz ensemble set against film pieces.”

In the UK, the event is set to place in September in Manchester, Bristol, York, Birmingham and Edinburgh – no London-centric date has been announced but fingers crossed there will be one in the near future.

La La Land is in cinemas now.
