Warner Bros. is in the process of casting some of the characters in the long-awaited Justice League Dark movie, aka Dark Universe.

Latino-Review reports the studio is looking for an A-list actor to play the Hellblazer, John Constantine, with Colin Farrell (True Detective) and Star Wars‘ Ewan McGregor as possible choices for the role.

Spectre‘s Monica Bellucci is the frontrunner to play the mystic Madame Xanadu, while the studio searches for a “comedic presence” to embody Deadman.

Producer Guillermo Del Toro (Pacific Rim) reportedly had Hellboy actor Ron Perlman picked to play Swamp Thing.

Justice League Dark focuses on a team of heroes (separate from the traditional Justice League line-up) who tackle supernatural situations. The Dark heroes will reportedly “co-exist with the main Justice League team, much like how Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy operate individually from the Avengers.” However, the two DC titles may collide in the future.

Justice League Dark will begin filming next year.
