Colin Trevorrow will direct Intelligent Life later this year, a film that he wrote with partner Derek Connolly.
Trevorrow is currently finishing the effects on the highly-anticipated Jurassic World, and has chosen to make a Sci-Fi thriller for his next project over at Dreamworks.
Plot details remain sketchy at this stage, although The Hollywood Reporter claim that Intelligent Life will “have its roots” in an earlier project by the writing duo entitled The Ambassador. Initially developed as a follow-up to Safety Not Guaranteed, the film that brought Trevorrow international acclaim, The Ambassador follows a UN worker chosen to represent humanity in the event of alien contact. This new project will see a re-teaming with Jurassic World producers Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg,
