Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer has announced that he will retire from the superhero genre.

Zimmer told the BBC that he’s spent a lot of years on superhero films and he now wants to leave that behind. “I did Batman Begins with Chris [Nolan] 12 years ago, so The Dark Knight Trilogy might be three movies to you, to me it was 11 years of my life,” he said.

Zimmer also scored Man of Steel and most recently Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which Zimmer admitted was a struggle ” it was very hard for me to do, to try to find new language.”

So you can hear Zimmer’s last superhero score in Batman v Superman which is currently in theaters worldwide.
