Gods of Egypt is first big box office flop of the year

Gods of Egypt is the first big box office flop of the year as it took just $14 million in its opening weekend.

That may seem like a decent opening but not when considering that the fantasy epic reportedly cost $140 million to produce.

Deadpool remained in top spot for the third weekend running with Gods of Egypt in 2nd.

There were also some other flops this weekend with sports movie Eddie the Eagle and heist film Triple 9 both taking just $6 million apiece.
