Ever since his days as Harry Potter finished three years ago, Daniel Radcliffe has made sure his subsequent career has veered toward genuinely good material (What If, Kills Your Darlings), and consistently further away from being typecast forever as the Boy Wizard. But he’s just been cast in Now You See Me 2, the sequel to 2013’s smash hit caper, which saw a group of magicians enact stunt after stunt while evading some seriously inept police. Radcliffe’s return to magic is complemented by fellow new cast member Lizzy Caplan, while returning stars from the original will include Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, and Woody Harrelson (with Isla Fisher possibly not returning). We’re led to believe that Radcliffe will play the villain, as his character – Walter – will be the son of Arthur Tressler, who was played by Michael Caine as the big bad of the original. Will Walter be more powerful than Harry? We’ll have to wait until June, 2016 to find out.
