After the departure of Edgar Wright from Marvel’s Ant-Man superhero movie (the director left citing creative differences), the studio has had a tough job filling his role, with many directors turning down the opportunity. But they have finally found their yes man in the form of Peyton Reed – best known for directing Jim Carrey’s Yes Man and the comedy cheerleader movie Bring It On. They also revealed that Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) is “contributing to the film’s script.”

The studio has provided the following synopsis for the film:

“Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”

About Theo Pape

Theo Pape grew up on great movies, created Flickreel, and serves as its Editor-in-chief. He remembers vividly the moment his mind was blown as he witnessed Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman being catapulted over a castle wall when he was a child.
