Angelina Jolie rumoured to play Bride of Frankenstein in reboot

When you think ‘monster,’ the face of Angelina Jolie probably doesn’t spring to mind. Yet the actor / director is rumoured – thanks to The Hollywood Reporter – to be starring in Universal Pictures’ reboot of The Bride of Frankenstein, as none other than the lead Bride.

1935’s iconic horror is widely considered a classic – so it’s some pretty large (monster-sized, even) shoes for Jolie to step into. Having recently produced her directorial effort Unbroken and By the Sea, Jolie would be doing the studio a favour by leading the movie – which we expect to be a continuation of Universal’s plan to continue rebooting their monster pictures for a new audience. And if anyone’s going to bring even more glamour to the role than even original star Elsa Lanchester, then Angelina Jolie’s the one to do it.
