Amazon Studios are going to start making and acquiring original films, which they will put out on the big screen before they are released 4-6 weeks later through Amazon Prime. Amazon Studios vice president Roy Price said:

“We look forward to expanding our production efforts into feature films. Our goal is to create close to 12 movies a year, with production starting later this year. We hope this program will also benefit filmmakers, who too often struggle to mount fresh and daring stories that deserve an audience.”

They’re currently looking for movie ideas too, so now could be your chance to get one up on the big screen: http://studios.amazon.com/
